Cristian MALOȘ

Romanian environmental researcher with interdisciplinary expertise in social-ecological systems (SES), landscape sustainability, and biodiversity conservation. With academic training in geography, biology, and geology, Dr. Maloș brings a systems-thinking approach to understanding human–nature interactions across multifunctional landscapes. His work bridges the academic, policy, and community sectors, focusing on how land use, recreational practices, and conservation planning interact in dynamic environments, especially in peri-urban and cultural landscapes. His recent work includes pioneering efforts to assess the sustainability of trail running events, the mainstreaming of biodiversity in urban forest planning, and the use of social networks to evaluate biocultural systems.
