Cristian PAPP

Dr. Cristian Remus Papp is an expert in applied ecology, with a strong focus on large carnivore conservation, ecological connectivity, and protected area management. Holding a PhD in Biology from UBB and a Master's degree in Protected Area Management from Alpen-Adria University in Klagenfurt, Austria, Dr. Papp brings an interdisciplinary perspective to conservation science, blending ecological research with strategic policy and project planning. His scholarly contributions address urgent ecological issues, including the fragmentation caused by linear infrastructure and the development of ecological corridors essential for the mobility of large carnivores such as wolves and bears in the Carpathians. Notable among his publications are works in Nature Conservation and Biological Conservation, which examine the spatial trends of human–wildlife conflict and advocate for ecological networks as foundational tools for sustainable landscape management.
